ABOUT REBECCA McLYNN
Paintings, photographs, mixed media and works on paper.
Landscape, detail in nature and the quality and atmosphere of the elements inform McLynn’s oil paintings on canvas, mixed media works, photographs and works on paper.
Her subjects have included the west coast of Ireland, far north-west of Scotland, the Atlantic islands of the Hebrides, Arctic Norway and California’s Big Sur.
She is drawn to particular types of landscape – raw, wild, desolate, and lush enchanted places rich in damp moss, foliage and colour.
She captures the essence of a place, using a hint of figuration to draw the view while the composition allows the viewer to contemplate their own reminiscences of place and time.
